On January 24, we reported that the market forecast of S&P 500 GAAP earnings for Q3 2018 was 118, and then projected a very significant cut to this estimate.   So, it is perhaps not surprising that the most updated forecast of GAAP earnings for Q3 2018 is now 107 (https://us.spindices.com), a nine percent drop from the January 24 forecast and not far from our estimate of 105 at the time.
