Educators CU Receives Financial Capability Innovation Award from EverFi at Nasdaq - FINANCIAL-24

Educators Credit Union was honored at the third annual Financial Capability Innovation Awards presented by the nation’s leading technology innovator, EverFi, Inc. Presented at Nasdaq Marketsite in New York City, the award recognizes Educators’ significant efforts to improve the financial capability of the Southeastern Wisconsin community through unique digital learning initiatives.

“We are honored to receive this award from EverFi,” said Educators’ CEO Linda Hoover. “Educators is committed to educating and advising our members and community on their personal finances. Thanks to EverFi, we are able to bring those lessons to the classroom and educate these students about finances at an early age.”

Honorees were selected based on a set of criteria that included the scale and reach of their financial education initiatives, the duration of their commitment and unique employee volunteering activities that supplement their programs.

Educators Credit Union is committed to providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully navigate the increasingly complex financial world we live in. Educators has partnered with EverFi to bring financial literacy programs to local students at no cost to schools or taxpayers and has reached more than 3,000 students since 2017. The web-based program uses the latest in simulation and gaming technologies to bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital generation.

Administered by teachers in a classroom setting, the web-based course offers over six hours of programming on a variety of financial topics including credit scores, insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks, savings, 401k’s and other critical concepts that map to national financial literacy standards. The platform uniquely tracks the progress and performance of each student.

Educators Credit Union’s effort to help the community with financial literacy doesn’t stop in the classroom. Educators offers an EverFi program for any of its members willing to learn more about their personal finances at no cost. After completing seven interactive learning modules, members are eligible to win a $50 reward.
