Cool at School: Hendrickson High School fashion challenge - FINANCIAL-24
Five Hendrickson High School students of Pflugerville ISD are putting their fashion skills to work in a challenge with A +Federal Credit Union. Designers were given xl t-shirts from A +, and asked to create an outfit.
Brianna Lara is part of advanced fashion class on campus and was challenged with designing an outfit with the high school, and credit union logo, "We are creating an outfit out of two or three, two XL shirts. We have to have the school logo and the A + logo. I was running out fabric and I didn't
know where to put the school logo, so I just made a side bag."
This 16-year-old has been sewing since 6th grade and would make outfits for her dog. But this design is more complex, "You see it in your head, and sometimes it doesn't come out exactly how you want it to come out so it was kind of challenging."
17-year- old Luz Garduno is one of the finalists, "I was pretty proud of myself in how it turned out. I thought I was going to fail and not be the same as the other girls but it turned out really good."
Each outfit is different, but one thing is the same for all these students like junior Raheeq Amdeen, this experience is just the beginning in fashion for them, "After I graduate I want to have my own fashion line and start sewing and have more opportunities." Junior Dailia Winn won the competition. Shereceives a $100 Visa Gift Card and goes on to compete against the 1st place designs from the other high school branches.
