ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for every player of the Pakistan One Day International squad that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 tournament, on Tuesday.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that by performing well in the Champions Trophy tournament, the national team had lifted the spirits of the nation.
"By becoming champions, the national cricket team has held our heads high in pride," she said.
She said that the cricket team had performed well in all departments of the game.
Pakistan cricket team came back into the tournament spectacularly by beating India by 180 runs after their dismal start to the tournament.
Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Junaid Khan, Azhar Ali and others were the star performers for Pakistan who helped the team clinch the trophy. - NNI
