Poetry book of Fazil Jamili "Gumnaam Aadmi Ka Bian" launched
Long awaited poetry book of renowned and famous poet Fazil Jamili was at last launched during the reported week. Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh was the chief guest at the launching ceremony of the first poetry book of Fazil Jamili entitled "Gumnaam Aadmi Ka Bian". Senior Minister Sindh, Nisar Khohro, Sindh Minister Syed Nasir Ali Shah and Sharmeela Farooqui were also among the guests of honour who spoke on this occasion and lauded the book by Fazil. Other renowned literary personalities like Shakeel Adil Zada, Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Wusatullah Khan, Mujahid Barelvi, Shahid Rasaam, Ghulam Shahbaz Butt also spoke on the occasion. Uzma Alkareem conducted the ceremony beautifully.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on this occasion, said that his government would continue to encourage all those who were serving the nation and the country through their poetry, writings and arts. Being an engineer, Murad said, he was more interested in the form and structure of Jamili's poems.
The Chief Minister said Jamili's poem 'New Year Resolution' on page number 56 evoked so much interest. Lauding the poet for his 'Lyari Ka Noha', Murad said the poem was reminiscences of late Rafique Engineer and noted personalities of Lyari area. He said the poet's work illustrated the day-to-day life of Lyari in a splendid manner.
Nisar Khohro also read a couple of verses from Jamili's work which were greeted with appreciation from the audience.
Journalist/Anchor Wusatullah Khan enthralled the audience with his witty observation on the book's title.
Senior Journalists and personalities related from literature attended the ceremony in a large number and Fazil thanked his entire friends who attended the ceremony.
Ahmad Mohammadi, Iranian Consul General hosted lunch on the eve of Eid-e-Bi'tha
Ahmad Mohammadi, Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran at Karachi hosted a lunch in honour of senior Journalists of Karachi on the occasion of Eid Bi'tha during the week. On this occasion, he exchanged views with the journalists on the regional issues. He also talked about economic, bilateral and cultural relations between the two countries.
Bi'tha means selection of the Prophet by God for guidance of people. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the age of forty in the Hira cave in Nur Mountain had been selected as Prophet and the first verses of Sura al-'Alaq were revealed to him. The Bi'tha was the beginning of Islam and occurred on Rajab 27, 13 years before Hijra (June 28, 610).
Nasira Zuberi launches her new book "Teesra Qadam"
Senior renowned economic journalist, Anchor and Poetess Nasira Zuberi launched her new book "Teesra Qadam" during the reported week. In this prestigious ceremony eminent personalities attended this gracious occaion. Nasira in her address said that there is need to create awareness among our children about literature and its importance in the society. So literature topics must be included in our curriculum, she added. She said she is much inspired from famous writer Bano Qudsia who written "Doosra Qadam". Her husband Shahab Zuberi was also present on the occasion and appreciated the literary contribution of Nasira in Urdu literature.
TJP hosts dinner in honour of Karachi Editors' Club
Tehreek Janisaran-e-Pakistan (TJP) is an emerging political party which is planning to announce its launching soon. During the reported week, its Chairman Qaisar Shafee Ullah hosted a dinner in honour of members of Karachi Editors' Club (KEC) at a local restaurant.
Qaisar highlighted main objective of his newly emerged party especially against the corruption and discrimination. On this occasion, President of TJP Arshad Sheikh, Secretary General Anees Ur Rehman Advocate, and other leadership like Maham Chohdhry, Shafeeq Qurashi, Shameem Naz, Shakir Ali, Khalid Durrani and Irfan Rana were also present.
