Since our July 29^th blog the dollar index (DXY) broke a major support (93), which solidifies the recent downward trend of the dollar. Yet, contrary to the interest rate parity model, the downward trend of the dollar from January 17 to September 21 has coincided with a drop in the 10-year Treasury yield.

This simply indicates that the recent driver of the dollar trend is not the interest rate parity model, but rather lower market expectations on US economic growth relative to the start of the year.
