USU Credit Union Opens New Providence Branch - FINANCIAL-24
USU Credit Union held a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for their new branch located at 84 South Highway 165 in Providence. This branch was built to replace the Credit Union’s former office located in a nearby strip mall.
“The new branch is a great opportunity for us to give our members an efficient and rich experience,” says David Butterfield, Division President of USU Credit Union. “Like our Welcome Center branch on campus, the new Providence branch offers a high-tech approach where our members can receive personal one-on-one attention as well as experience the latest technology in banking with two Personal Teller machines available for use. We have found that our members who use the Welcome Center branch have loved having this alternative method of banking, and we think this branch will help bring that technology to our members on the south end of the Valley.”
Credit Union Board of Directors Chairman Bill Hart, Vice-Chair Steve Carroll and Board Member Brandon Hendrickson joined with Butterfield, Credit Union officers, managers and employees to officially open the new branch. Also participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony was Providence City Mayor Don Calderwood, other members of the Providence City Council and several representatives from the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Katie Liehe will manage all branch activity, originate mortgages and provide insurance services from the new office. Liehe previously managed the original Providence branch, as well as the North Logan branch located in Lee’s Marketplace.
The Personal Teller machines are a concept similar to “self-check-in” at an airport, or “self check-out” at a grocery store. The Personal Tellers are capable of many of the simple and routine transactions that were exclusive to traditional tellers in the past. They accept large amounts of bills or checks at once, and unlike a traditional ATM, the Personal Teller machines offer a variety of bill sizes. They also allow access to USU Credit Union’s Shared Branching network, which is a perk offered to all members via a quick and easy one-time enrollment.
For members who may be concerned about learning how to use the Personal Tellers, the Credit Union’s staff is on-site to greet everyone who enters the branch and assist them with their transactions.
The Providence branch features two drive-thru teller lines, a drive-thru ATM, and two Personal Teller machines inside of the building. In addition, the branch will continue to offer a full range of services including auto and RV loans, home loans, insurance, free checking, and Visa cards.
