Pakistan backs efforts for peace, stability in Afg - FINANCIAL-24
ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasser Janjua on Friday said that Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan and ready to support all efforts towards this end.
He was talking to British High Commissioner Thomas Drew in Islamabad. Both sides discussed prevailing security situation in the region with special reference to security situation in Afghanistan and status of Pak-India relations. Both sides condemned and expressed condolence on recent bomb attack in Kabul.
Ambassador of Iran Mehdi Honardoost also called on the NSA and discussed matters pertaining to the enhancement of bilateral relations, issues of security and border management came under discussion.
Nasser Janjua said, "Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Iran and is committed to overcome all irritants for its improvement."
Both sides agreed to boost up the level of cooperation in multiple areas to strengthen bilateral relations and to improve border management through better coordination and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Japan Takashi Kurai also met Nasser Janjua and discussed matters pertaining to improvement of bilateral relations and regional security situations. The two sides expressed support for constructive efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
The NSA reiterated that, "Pakistan has always supported all peace endeavours towards India and Afghanistan. Pakistan regards Japan as a close friend and a reliable economic partner." - NNI
