Tucson FCU wins Community Impact Award - FINANCIAL-24
Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) won the Community Impact Award presented by the Society of Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM). The award ceremony, Celebrating Innovation in the Workplace, took place on November 1, 2017 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.SHRM selected TFCU because of the organization’s employee driven efforts in addition to their corporate philanthropic policy.
As a community-focused organization, TFCU considers this human resources perspective an additional honor of the recognition. TFCU’s nomination focused on Team Make a Difference, a group of independent employee-volunteers. The committee promotes volunteerism and philanthropy within the organization and led the way for notable acts of kindness like the “Ultimate Savings Deposit,” a drive that collected over 4,100 items of food for homeless teens.
TFCU was founded in 1937 as Tucson Teachers Federal Credit Union. TFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Pima County. Today, TFCU has grown to more than 49,000 members and seven locations in Tucson, Marana, and Sahuarita. Their growth and success comes from those members who use their services, a dedicated group of volunteers who are elected by their members to represent them, and a great staff who are committed.
