Educational Systems FCU Mourns the Passing of their Board Chair, Rosemary Brinkley - FINANCIAL-24

November 1, 2017 (Greenbelt, MD) - It is with great sadness that Educational Systems Federal Credit Union announces that the Chair of their Board of Directors, Rosemary Brinkley, has passed away. Rosemary was a member of the Credit Union for over 50 years, and for the past 46 years she served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors. During her service to the Credit Union, she held the offices of Treasurer, Vice Chair and had been the Chair for the past 20 years. Under Rosemary's leadership, the Credit Union experienced exponential growth. When she joined the Board of Directors, the Credit Union was serving several thousand members in only one Maryland county school system. Today, Educational Systems FCU serves 87,000 members of the education community in seven counties in Maryland. Rosemary had a strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to the members of the education community which helped the Credit Union thrive. "Rosemary always led with her mantra of 'We can do better.' She was a true champion of education and credit unions," said Chris Conway, President/CEO of Educational Systems FCU. "Our Credit Union family is deeply saddened by her passing." Rosemary received her undergraduate degree from Hampton University and her Master's degree from New York University. During her 33-year career in education, she was an educator with Charles County Public Schools and later became an educator and administrator in Prince George's County Public Schools. As an educator, she enjoyed teaching business classes and was a life-long supporter of financial education.
