ECOBANK TANZANIA INTRODUCES AN EFFICIENT PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR TICTS CUSTOMERS - FINANCIAL-24

Dar es Salaam. Ecobank Tanzania has today officiated a partnership with TICTS that enables TICTS customers to make their payments quickly and efficiently at any Ecobank Branch.
The Bank has custom-made state-of-the-art solutions that promotes convenience to TICTS customers’ through a smooth and hassle free process that is easy and secure. This service is available to both Ecobank and non-Ecobank customers.
Announcing the partnership in Dar es Salaam today, Ecobank Tanzania’s acting Managing Director, Raphael Benedict said that through this partnership, the bank wants to ensure that the process of payments for container handling services s at the port of Dar es salaam is convenient and stress free for TICTS customers.
Mr. Benedict added that to facilitate this, Ecobank’ s PSPF Branch which is located next door to the TICTS offices has adjusted its opening hours from 08:30am to 10:00pm on weekdays and 09:00am to 04:00pm on Saturdays.
Further still, The Bank is looking into extending its operations to Sundays. The extended hours practically mean that customers now have a bigger time window to carry out their operations and clear their containers.
He said Furthermore, through the bank’s digitalization strategy; Ecobank Tanzania has developed advanced Digitalized solutions which are in the final phase of implementation that will enable 24 hour payments for TICTS customers.
On his part, The Tanzania International Container Services (TICTS) CEO Jared Zerbe, said TICTS is always striving to improve its services to meet customers’ expectations.
“We are very happy with this partnership with Ecobank which will help us improve our day to day operations.
Our customers are also advised to use Ecobank’s other 5 branches in Dar es Salaam for the same services.
The General Secretary for TAFFA (Tanzania Freight Forwarders Association) Mr. Tony Swai in his statement said that the association is impressed with the introduction of the solution and so far have tested it and are happy with its capabilities.
